South Central Ontario FireSmart Committee (SCOFC)

- Initial organization began in 2007 – SCOFC officially formed in 2010
- desire to coordinate wildfire prevention efforts locally and collaborate on more efficient program delivery at a regional scale
- some serious local fires include Maple Leaf (2004) and Slab Town (2007)
